This international company knew they could do better with their ecommerce presence, and started looking for cutting edge technologies to help ramp sales.

Solution

Having worked with a member of our team on ecommerce projects before, Icebreaker knew that 4‑Tell’s personalized recommendations solution would be robust. They decided to implement us on their redesigned product page, along with ratings/reviews and an improved image server. Since our service was ready to go on day one, Icebreaker decided to immediately roll-out 4‑Tell recommendations in their shopping cart. This allowed them to take advantage of the sales lift from our technology while waiting for the redesigned product pages to go live in the near future.

Results

  • 9.3% of people who logged in to the shopping cart clicked on a recommendation. This will be even higher when we go live on the redesigned PDP page, as we will be catching visitors while they’re browsing and shopping instead of just while they’re in the check-out funnel.
  • Shoppers who click on recommendations in the cart are 17% more likely to complete the check-out process.
  • The average order value is 50% higher for shoppers who click on a cart recommendation, than for shoppers who do not click on a cart recommendation.

We expect both average order value and overall conversion to increase even further when 4‑Tell’s recommendations are live on their redesigned PDP page and throughout the site. Meanwhile, Icebreaker is very happy indeed!
