QUICK-START INSTRUCTIONS

4-Tell Boost™ provides a fast and affordable method for you to get automated product recommendations into your online store. Recommendations have been proven to increase revenue by converting more browsers to buyers, improving customer loyalty, and increasing average order value.

SETUP

There are four steps to installing 4-Tell Boost on your osCommerce site. A quick overview is provided here. Each step is covered in more detail in the full instruction guide (see above).

STEP 1: SIGN UP FOR YOUR CLIENT ALIAS

Sign up here to activate your free trial and receive your Client Alias. There are no up-front fees or consulting required, and you will not be charged unless you continue using the service after the free trial period.

STEP 2: INSTALL THE NEW CODE PAGES ON YOUR SITE

Unzip the installation package and copy the required files into your site. You must copy the entire 4-Tell folder into your catalog. The remaining files are examples that you can use to either replace your existing files, or else to see how to edit them. The example files are the default pages from distribution 2.2 of the osCommerce site, with one line of code added to each in order to enable recommendations on that page. Search for “4-tell” in the example files to view the added code.

STEP 3: EDIT YOUR CONFIGURATION SETTINGS

Edit the file: 4-Tell/4-tell-configure.php to adjust your user settings. The extension will not work until you insert your Client Alias into this file. Then also edit 4-Tell/ConfigBoost.txt to set the data upload parameters. See the section on configuration in the full instruction guide for detailed explanation of the parameters.

STEP 4: SCHEDULE DATA UPLOADS

The file: 4-tell-upload.php contains all the functions necessary to upload your data to our service. Load this page in your server's browser to get the service started. Then schedule this script to run nightly or weekly depending on your site traffic.

Try our service risk-free for one month. If you decide not to keep it, just discontinue use and you owe us nothing.
